About This Directory

This is an independent directory resource. It is not a clinic, practice, or clinical service. The directory is operated by an editorial team; no practitioner or clinical relationship is implied by use of this site.

What is Sydney Anxiety Psychology?

Sydney Anxiety Psychology is an independent directory helping people in Sydney find AHPRA-registered telehealth psychologists who specialise in anxiety. It is not a clinic, a practice, or a therapy service. This directory helps people identify suitable practitioners; we do not provide clinical care.

All listed practitioners are AHPRA-registered psychologists. The directory makes no clinical recommendations and is not a substitute for professional advice. The role of this directory is to make information easier to find - not to make clinical decisions for you.

Why we built it

Finding a telehealth psychologist for anxiety is harder than it should be. Most directories are generic, most practice websites obscure their fees, and the Medicare system is genuinely confusing. The combination of these barriers - "who do I contact?", "what will it cost?", "does telehealth even work?" - stops many people from getting support they are already looking for.

The goal is to reduce those barriers: clear fees where available, accurate Medicare information, and a direct way to connect with a suitable practitioner.

Editorial Standards & How Listings Work

This directory uses a public-register model with defined editorial standards for how listings are created, maintained, and removed. We apply these standards consistently to ensure information is accurate and fairly presented.

How listings are sourced

Practitioner profiles are built from two primary sources:

  1. The AHPRA Registers of Practitioners - a publicly accessible government register at ahpra.gov.au. This confirms: registration status, registration type (registered psychologist vs endorsed clinical psychologist), and principal practice suburb.
  2. Practitioners' own public-facing websites - additional profile information (biography, fees, therapy approaches, booking links) is sourced only from the practitioner's own public practice website or a public professional directory (e.g. Halaxy, Psychology Today). The source URL is noted in each profile.

We do not create practitioner profiles from secondary sources, patient reports, or inferred information. We do not add clinical claims, testimonials, or outcome statements that are not present in the practitioner's own public materials.

How we verify information

  • AHPRA registration: Each practitioner's AHPRA registration is confirmed at the AHPRA public register before listing. We do not list practitioners who do not appear on the register with current registration.
  • Registration type: We use only the registration type confirmed by AHPRA. We do not upgrade a practitioner to "endorsed clinical psychologist" based on their own website or marketing materials alone - only what appears on the AHPRA register.
  • SIRA/icare provider status: Not applicable to this site (see the Workers Comp Psychologist directory for SIRA-specific information).
  • Fees and experience: Listed only where sourced directly from the practitioner's own public website. Where not available, the field is marked "On enquiry" or left blank.
  • Unclaimed profiles: Pre-built profiles that have not been verified by the practitioner are marked "Unclaimed." These contain only AHPRA public-register data and information from the practitioner's own public website. No booking form or contact pathway is enabled for unclaimed profiles until the practitioner claims and reviews their listing.

How listings are updated

We periodically review listings to check for practitioner registration changes via the AHPRA register, and update fee or availability information where the practitioner's own public website has changed. Claimed profiles are updated when the practitioner submits updated information. Unclaimed profiles are reviewed against publicly available information when material discrepancies are identified or reported.

How listings are removed

Any practitioner may request removal of their profile at any time. We process removal requests within 24 hours, with no questions asked and no requirement to justify the request. See our listing removal page for the process. We do not reinstate removed profiles without a specific request from the practitioner.

Reporting inaccurate information

If you notice inaccurate information on this directory - including incorrect registration type, outdated fees, or information you believe was not sourced from a practitioner's own public materials - please contact us via the listing removal page. We will review and correct within 48 hours. AHPRA registration type discrepancies are corrected by reference to the AHPRA register.

Privacy

We collect minimal personal information and handle it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988. Profile pages contain only publicly available information. Any information submitted through the contact or claim forms is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

About the directory operator

Sydney Anxiety Psychology is an independently operated Australian directory. It was created to address a specific information gap: the combination of "which psychologist specialises in anxiety", "do they offer telehealth", "what will it cost after Medicare" and "is their AHPRA registration current" was difficult for most people to answer quickly and reliably. This directory consolidates that information in one place, using only public sources, with clear editorial standards.

The operator is not a clinical practice, does not provide clinical services, and has no commercial relationship with any listed practitioner. Revenue model: directory listing fees from verified and claimed practitioner profiles (claimed profiles only).

Niche focus: Telehealth anxiety psychology - Sydney and NSW. We do not attempt to cover every mental health presentation or every geography. Doing one thing well for a specific population is our editorial commitment.
